Challenge: Create acoustic objects that resemble kites. The busy check-out counter at the middle school library needed something special. The designer wanted to create a child friendly image while honoring a beloved faculty member. We were called in for the rescue.
Solution: Digitally printed fabric wrapped acoustic panels with favorite quotes of the beloved teacher. We custom designed maple kite frames, fabricated, and painted them to coordinate with the triangle acoustic panel inserts. We suspended the kites from the ceiling at angles to resemble flight. The fabric tails sway when the HVAC comes on adding to the illusion of flight while significantly reducing noise and distraction.
